Robinson’s California’s designer, Patrick Robinson is a fashion giant who worked for Giorgio Armani, Anne Klein, Perry Ellis, Paco Rabanne, and Gap.
Robinson attended Parsons School of Design and has been a member of the Council of Fashion Designers of America since 1994. He is one of the top 100 stars in Vogue. Robinson got the brand Giorgio Armani on its feet.
This designer was born in Memphis, Tenn. in 1966 and grew up in Orange County and LA. He held a part-time job at Nordstrom’s while attending high school.
His first line was beachwear which was motivated by his love for surfing. He attended the Parsons New School of Design in NYC and graduated in 1989. He also studied at the American College in Paris.
Patrick began creating clothes for surfers at the age of 14 while in California. He moved and worked side-by-side with couturier Patrick Kelly in Paris in 1986. Later, he went to Europe as Design Director for Giorgio Armani in Milan.
In four years he transformed the line into a profitable apparel company. Back in NY he became Senior Vice President of Design, Merchandising and Marketing for Anne Klein.
His women’s label was chosen by Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth, Bergdorf Goodman and Barney’s, and more. In 2005 he was named Artistic Director for Paco Rabanne.
At Gap, Robinson launched 1969 premium Denim and Gap sport. In May 2013 he was hired as global creative director of Armani Exchange and tested Paskho brand.
Lucky Brand Jeans was bought for $225 million in 2013 and is a denim company founded in Vernon, California in 1990. This company designs activewear, outerwear, T-shirts, and professional attire.
Robinson continues to attract the eyes of celebrities and fashionistas with his eye for design.
