As the electoral vote count took place today at the US Capitol this Wednesday, rioters with intentions to burn votes in Trump’s favor stormed Capitol Hill in a rage and caused a concern.
Protesters stormed outside the Capital under the notion that something was going to happen that would change the election and turn to elect Trump as President, which Trump had told crowds, according to an unknown source.
The protesters held signs that read ‘Trump the Steal’, and there were crowds of many Republicans and Trump supporters. As lawmakers were escorted out of the Capitol and protesters broke through windows, and invaded the halls occupying the seats and offices of personnel such as Nancy Pelosi and Senate members posing for pictures, the lawmakers made it out safe.
The building was locked down and police with guns drawn moved in as Vice President Mike Pence and other lawmakers were evacuated. The National Guard troops were appointed and a city curfew of 6pm-6am was set, and some mob members stayed in the Capitol for hours.
A woman was shot and died at a hospital around 3pm, later identified as Ashli Babbit of San Diego, and as a measure to create a peaceful environment again, Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser imposed a curfew from 6pm to 6am imposed by the Metropolitan Police.
President-elect Joe Biden called Trump out on live television to send his protesters home. “The scenes of chaos at the capitol do not reflect a true America, do not represent who we are.” He went on to call on Trump to “go on national television” now to demand an end to this siege. Biden is to be inaugurated in just two weeks.
In regard to Biden’s demand, President Trump posted a recorded video to social media telling the mob of people who stormed the US Capitol to “go home in peace.” Trump began by saying how hurt and pain a stolen election can be, and that the people must treat these great people in law and order right. He said it was a fraudulent election and that people should go home in peace.
