Day Two started and ended at the same place—Rick's Café. It is obviously not the café shown in the movie Casablanca, but it is a nice replica. As a side note, when trying to find Rick's Café I learned (from Wikipedia) that the owner of Rick's Café is a company called "The Usual Suspects, S.A." Ha!
We started the day there because that is where we met our guide for our first tour. We visited the Hassan II Mosque and Notre Dame de Lourdes church. We were also going to visit a Jewish museum. But we were touring on a Saturday, which is the Jewish sabbath, and the museum was closed.
Since we couldn't visit the Jewish museum, we did other things. The highlight of the day for me was visiting the olive market.
The picture is less than half of the olives for sale by one vendor. There were more than a dozen vendors. And the prices... 20 MAD for a kilogram of olives. We bought 250g for 5 MAD. They were delicious!
We went on to have tea and pastries at a local shop.
The afternoon we spent at the Villa des Arts en Casablanca and then visiting a skate park where we watched kids (and adults) show off tricks.
Finally, after meeting up with the rest of our group we ended the night with a drink back at Rick's Café.
