This would be a hard shot to recreate in film ratio. But in this famous post-impressionist oil painting by van Gough, the warmth of the yellow light reflecting off the veranda gives the scene a cozy feel against the darkness of the night sky and the building's shadows. Almost like it is encompassing the guests and the street pedestrians. I've always loved how combination of light, colors and the vanishing point make you feel as if you're there on the sidewalk too. I would love to be able to recreate these colors somehow in a scene one day.
