Past times photo manipulations...

by Andrew Buchanan May. 08, 2021 185 views

Here is an ECLECTIC MIX of past-times photo-manipulation experiments done over years. I thought of deleting them all, but then I thought that they be of use to view - at least you might avoid going down such a route if you don't like them!

Just because I'm posting these, doesn't mean that I like them all or that I'm satisfied with the results - however, they might inspire someone to try something novel with their own images. I cannot tell you how I processed these - lost in time I'm afraid. You don't need to be kind if you comment - feel free offer critical comment if you wish!

The frame was batch applied in Photoscape Pro.

Must say I like most of them. But #1 stands out.

These are definitely worth keeping. Thanks for sharing them. I really like the calendar frame you used. The artistic styles are quite varied and interesting and do inspire me to do more with this type of editing. What program are you using?

Hi Craig,

Thanks for all your FAVES and above comment. I am grateful for your encouragement.

I thought it would be nice to try and answer your question in a more in-depth manner, so I've published a blog on to give an insight into my techniques.

It can be found here:

I like most of them, Andrew, especially the boats and the flowers. Deleting them would be regrettable.

BTW, you do know that you can select any image from a post to be the cover image, right? I am saying this because in my opinion, there are several images in this post that would have been a better choice for the cover, like the ones I have fav'd.

Thanks Benny - not sure what you mean by the 'cover image' - are you talking about the 'header' image? Just put that there to get started, not thought about it since.

Cheers,

Andrew

Let me explain. The cover image is the one that represents the post on the summary view pages. Every post shows up as a card with an image and a few lines of text from the post (if there is enough text in the post), so the image acts as the cover for the post. That's what people see first before clicking into the post, so it makes sense to choose the best image from the post to be the cover. By default, the first image in the post will be shown as the cover, but you can choose any image by clicking on it in edit mode and then clicking "Cover". An attractive cover will naturally attract more people to read the post. 🙂

Thanks for that information - did not know that. That makes great sense - I will review my posts in the near future.

Great help!

Cheers A
