How can I explain what home grown, oak smoked, fatty bacon, smells like, when it’s frying?


How can I describe in words the salty, sweet umaminess of this furiously sizzling,  shallow popping, eye sting spitting, mouth wetting throat swallowing, bread soaked seed squeaking, egg bubbling, savoury loveliness?


I don’t know, but as I walk through the scent filled cottage, each room holds a bouquet of its cooking, mixed with fresh baked bread and newly made coffee.

Dog waits for lip smacking, rind popped crackling.

Lucky dog!!! The crackling is the best bit!! I didn't realise you also made your own bacon...beautiful photo.
