Teacher Appreciation

Today we celebrated Teacher Appreciation Day in our school. I told the director I would make cakes for each teacher, but last night I was too exhausted. So I got up at the crack of dawn, in order to have the cakes ready to be at school with me at 8:00 a.m. I had to keep it simple, as my mind wasn't completely in focus and time was short, but something that would be attractive to the teachers, so they would know how much we appreciate them. (Our school has VERY special and dedicated teachers!)

I was really lucky to discover mini pans with covers (a first here) in the supermarket yesterday! A ladle of a simple yellow cake, and a scribble of chocolate marble…

First cakes emerging from the oven

18 cherries from a commercial can of cherry pie filling surround each cake. 18 symbolizes life. Cherries out of season are very appreciated here. Many thanks to my cousin Stuie for the chocolate marble, the pie filling, and everything else he has given our organization!

Finished and ready to give to the teachers. I even had 5 minutes left to get ready for school!
