Tuesday Inspiration

About the TI

Beth (beth0110) has suggested the theme this week.

Thanks to Helen and Stefan for creating The Tuesday inspiration, and for Helen's work in keeping it up.

“The Tuesday Inspiration” began in 2009 when they started setting each other a challenge… on a Tuesday. Very soon afterwards, it was decided to open this up to other PB members, followed by the idea that we should not reveal what the subject is, so that other members could compare how different members view a single theme. The Tuesday Inspiration is not a contest or a challenge, but a group of people all agreeing to post their interpretation of a single theme on Tuesdays. Each week, one of the contributors sets the theme. There are now over 60 members contributing to the TI. It is not a contest or a challenge, just a bunch of people agreeing to post their interpretation of a single theme on Tuesdays. Each week one of the contributors sets the theme and everybody else can enjoy/guess what it is. We have only two “rules”: don’t include the subject in the TI title or tags and please comply with standard PB guidelines on courtesy, etc. If you would like to take part, please contact HELEN Girafferacing.

“A little light dispells much darkness.”

If each and every person will try his or her utmost to add more light to the world, by increasing in the good deeds we do, the world will be a much brighter place! Let's all try to do something for someone else every day!

I took this first photo of our menorahs through rainbow glasses. It's entered in this week's theme.

For more information about Chanukah, plese see my post HERE. [photoblog.com]

Here it is without the special effects…

A public menorah adds a great deal of TI

In town squares and shopping malls, at city landmarks, in public parks and along well traveled highways around the world, Chabad’s Chanukah menorahs TI the skies with their lights, ensuring that the holiday’s messages of goodness and light and hope reach all people everywhere.

In answer to Beth's question – the menorah is lit each evening of the 8 days of Chanukah. The candles or oil are placed starting on the right side of the menorah, progressing to the left, but after the central “shamash” candle is lit, they are lit from left to right. In photograph #5, the 2nd candle had gone out, and they were about to re-light it. So one candle is lit the first eve, two the second, etc., culminating in all eight on the last night of Chanukah – tonight.

Wow, how did I miss these. Really good shots. My favourite is the very last one - a very good capture of the burning flame.

Number 1 is outstanding Leah. I've never even heard of rainbow glasses, but I want some now. Such an original shot, it's wonderful.
