Little Bird's egg - viewed from a low angle.

[006/365]

Day 6 of my 365 Photo Challenge.

Motivation is still high, and ideas are floating around in my brain!

This time, I picked a little empty bird's egg, which I found while filling the bird feeding stations in my back garden. Initially, I wanted to portrait the different proportions of a hen egg and this little egg, but due to a missing white hen egg, I decided to push this motif to a later day.

Luckily, I still had some pebbles leftover from a previous still life shoot which I used to provide a new background for the egg.

For the lighting, I used a LitraTorch again, mounted on a Manfrotto single arm mount.

To get the close up of the egg, I used my Nikon 70-200mm F2.8 VR2, mounted on my Gitzo Tripod.

Before I took the image, I did some research on what others have come up with, but haven't seen any close up of an egg on eye level. So I decided to approach the subject on such a low angle of view.

Hope you enjoy it and let me know what comes to your mind by viewing the image!
