Sandpiper, Isle of Fehmarn

Day 130 of my 365 Photo Challenge.

The motive of this picture is the snipe, which I photographed in the nature reserve "Wallgau" on the island of Fehmarn.

The nature reserve offers ideal conditions for wildlife photographers with its professionally designed hiding places.

From relatively close surroundings, you can observe and photograph the rich birdlife for hours.

Here the link to the website of the waterbird nature reserve "Wallgau".

I wish you much fun with a future visit!

It's a lovely photo Chris, super light and detail, but you've photographed a snipe (Gallinago gallinago) not a sandpiper. Note the very long bill.
They're normally very shy birds, and don't often appear in the open like that.

Hi Bob, many thanks for pointing out the right name of my motif. As you said, it is normally not so in the open space. This exemplar did not show any shyness at all! I am going to adjust the naming immediately!
