Sarah Palin rally- Johnstown, Pennsylvania

I stayed the night in Johnstown, PA Friday night, in order to arrive bright and early for the Sarah Palin rally. It was my first presidential rally. I have never had the opportunity to go to one before. I went to this one in order to do a paper for an investigative journalism class I am taking. I hope it will be the first of many to come.

This picture was taken a couple hours before the rally began. By the time it started the auditorium was full, along with a couple hundred people or so on the floor. This is the hockey rink for the Johnsown Chiefs. The movie “Slapshot” starring Paul Newman was filmed here.

This is the lead singer of the country band that played, his name is Aaron Tippin. I didn't recognize him by his appearance. But I was familiar with some of his songs. Two of the songs he sang were, “Kiss This”, “Drill Here, Drill Down.”

A band member.

The cub scouts lead the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Sarah with her children.

Aaron Tippin introduced Sarah.

"Investigative journalism"... that sounds like fun! Are you planning to combine this with your photography? You could have tested your paper out on us! So I'm curious what kind of guidelines you're given... in the case of something like this rally, is it important to remain neutral in reporting? Do you offer impressions? The body guards are pretty obvious aren't they? I went to an Obama rally and I agree they are fun to attend.... very high energy. Good shots... Interesting post.
