Out with my dear friend Piotr who lives in Krakow.  He is a fantastic street photographer specialising in night shots.  He gave me some pointers and I gave it a try

Thank you very much Kelly :-) this was shot at f4, 1/125 sec, 1600 iso. try to find pools of light (here it is from the building) and 75mm is a good length :-) hope that helps.

I see what you mean by 'pools of light' ... I had never thought of it that way.
