Insects of Ecuador

Despite having a smaller land area than the state of Arizona, Ecuador outpaces the entire United States when it comes to biodiversity, including that of insects. Data on the entomological fauna in Ecuador are still very incomplete, however there are over 4000 recorded species of butterflies alone.
