It's amazing how integrated into our culture Starbucks has become… And the incredible imprint of the Starbucks seal over this scene really captures it. In big cities there is one on every corner. In small towns, they either want one or they have the one cherished location. It's not even good coffee! They overcook the coffee beans, resulting in a burnt flavor in their mass produced caffinated drinks! But if everyone else is addicted to it, why not, right? Why settle for something that's… better… when you can just go with the angry bustling “I'm late for work, get my coffee correct, and get it to me faster” crowd. It's what all the successful people do right? Because Starbucks symbolizes success… If you can fork over $5 for a small cup of crappy coffee, you know you've made it! You're doing well! You've blown $5ish (or fed your caffeine addiction $5, however we wish to term it) on a drink that you'll finish on your way to work that smells amazing, but tastes pretty gross without an overwhelming amount of sugar/cream/etc, and that will give you kicking “good morning, coworkers/fellow students” breath. That's obviously $5 well spent.

It's absolutely everywhere! I see this picture as how extreme this one company's impression on society is. Such a corporate perspective on such a originally small business.

This picture captures the aspect of Starbucks so well! Even in an average day, it seems to be eternally evident in peoples' lives. It has gotten to the point where it is a part of life, often subconsciously for the standard American.
