Today, among the stories still focusing on the deaths of Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, another death was reported. It was the death of Robert Hulseman, the inventor of the Red Solo Cup, on Dec. 21st.
This cup is an every day item for me. I literally mean every day, as in each and every day. My full-time job is that of a lead in a small call center. Someone (not me) came up with a system for workers to request help using these cups. When a worker needs assistance, they take their Red Solo Cup and place it on a stick that is on the side of their monitor. While I initially laughed at this idea, it is actually quite effective. We do have another method of help requests available on the computer, but if I am, or another of the leads is, walking around, this does a great job of getting our attention.
So, I salute Mr. Hulseman for his invention. It's not merely a party accessory, but also business equipment.
