128/365 | Camassia

I took my camera for a much needed walk. A friend had posted some photos at a nearby nature center, which is surrounded by city. When I saw the post, I knew I had to visit. It was well worth it.  The site is named Camassia after the camas lilies that grow there. It is a Nature Conservancy site.

The camas lily was used by some of the native tribes. They would dig up the bulbs to use as food. Don't know if anyone still does that, or if it would even taste very good.
