So, I've never successfully completed a 365 day photo project, and this year is no exception. I managed to trudge through a little longer than I had before, so perhaps that's a victory, maybe not. I managed to post photos that were taken up until late May, and I kept shooting through the month of June - but I won't be posting all of those.
Once again I have received confirmation that this type of project is not for me. I applaud those that are able to make it through. Some will say that this type of project will help you to grow in your photography, and to keep the passion of photography alive. For me, it's the exact opposite. Yeah, it's fun for a little while, but then it's a struggle to find something to shoot just keep the project alive. These photos don't represent me, and many aren't even images that I would normally capture, let alone share.
I enjoy photography, I really do, but this type of project removes the enjoyment for me. My daily life doesn't allow me to use my camera nearly as much as I would like, but forcing it is not the answer. On a previous, failed, attempt at this type of project, I didn't even make it two month, but then I didn't take another photo, at all, for over a year. I'm not going to allow that to happen again.
So, this will be the last post of mine in regards to this project 365 as I called it. Maybe my last post on this site. I don't blog often, and I find the format of the photoblog site to be so extremely limiting. Would it hurt to allow a little customization?
