This is one of nine photos I took today, they are the remnants fo Hurricane Ike and we live in upstate NY. The winds were up to 50 miles an hour…

this is part of the tree that fell on that house in the background and it smashed her roof and front bedrooms…

The Fire Trucks had to come because the branchs fell on the wires…

This tree fell on the upstairs apartment, and knocked down wires..

This is part of the tree that fell on this house on my street…the FIre Truck was here too because of the sparks comming from the wires it fell on….

..This tree fell across the street and onto the wires here on my street…and sending sparks……ekkkk

….the tree fell across the street blocking traffic…

This is near a new home being built but now the tree is down….

..the tree is leaning on the home…knocking down wires and did some upstairs damage…

It would seem you're okay and for that I'm glad. Amazing shots--hard to believe, sometimes, how cruel Mother Nature can be.

Scary and sad, but I am looking at these photos with great respect. Respect for nature and for those who had to fight against it and have to rebuild their homes, their lives...

Ces phénomènes laissent toujours des traces ! en espérant qu'il n'y a pas eu de pertes en vies humaines

Wow - Ike was still doing a ton of damage there too. We had a ton of rain and couple of trees down as well! That was one big storm.

Wow, that's amazing the punch that Ike brought clear up there. My daughter and her family have left Houston, and will be staying in Dallas this week, then with my folks in San Angelo after that, until all the power and water is back up and running.
PS, your first picture of that tree, it looks like a bunch of cilantro!! I just bought some, so maybe that's what's on my mind. (check out my other blog tonight to see how I put it all to good use : photoblog.com/veganess)
