More Fun With the Zephyrs

Part of my birthday weekend was an excursion to another New Orleans Zephyrs baseball game. The Zs lost 7-1, but I still had fun experimenting with my new camera, though I'm afraid I didn't learn much about taking sports pictures at night, especially behind a screen. The camera was determined to focus on the screen rather than the players. Fireworks followed the game.

There was a nice gathering on the levee beyond the outfield fence.

Round Rock pitcher Runelvys Hernandez dominated the Zephyr hitters.

I got out from behind the screen to take this shot, maybe my best of the night.

My daughter got a little bored and played solitaire on her Ipod.

Our favorite Zephyr, Valentino Pascucci, hit a long fly ball to right on this swing for the final out of the game. What a name…Valentino Pascucci!

Despite the lopsided score, almost the whole crowd stayed for the fireworks….

which at one point seemed to fill the entire sky.

Minor league baseball games always have the greatest hometown feel

So the Zephyrs, are they a minor leuque team? For being behind a screen, they were good shots, loved the firewaorks at the end :)

Congrats on the 45 consecutive days!
I think these shots are very nice...much better than I could do outside at night. Shots 5 & 9 are on the money!!
