Turkey Day 43

After a relaxing day of napping and watching golf and baseball on TV, I ventured out into the neighborhood for an evening walk and saw some interesting flora and fauna along the way.

Neighborhood couples love to take walks in the early evening

At the famous corner of Sassparilla and Stamfield - all the street names in Somerset subdivision start with “S” - Sacramento, Scaramouche, Sophia, etc.

Somebody please help me identify these

The mouse logo is everywhere in Orlando, but no more in this neighborhood as the civic association has outlawed decorated driveways.

Quartet of palm trees

More flora for identification

Reflection in a quiet pond, or is it a lake? There are hundreds of lakes in the Orlando area.

Back to our new friends - making their way down the sidewalk

Stopping for a bite

Ready to go, dear?

Carefully crossing the street

Safely across and on their way

The extended family

Is he taking our picture?

Camera shy

Surely that sign doesn't apply to us.

Egrets on the opposite shore

Daddy palm tree

Somerset club house

Palm with evening shadow

Is there a horticulturist in the audience?

Sometimes it's easier to plant wooden ducks than to grow wooden plants.

Mom and Dad's baby crepe myrtle

And grapefruit tree

Complete with grapefruit

I had no idea they had wild turkeys in Florida. Those turkeys look like they act like these. I'm pretty sure the flowers in #3 are Bird of Paradise. Great set.

Love the turkeys, great set! Can't help you on the plants, though, I only do fish. ;)
