Greece Day 4

Dear friends,
We were up early (lovely breakfast isn't it?), and successfully managed the Metro, arriving at the port for our ferry to the island of Sifnos. Long before finding OUR boat, we realized boats weren't leaving. Too rough of seas…. maybe in a few hours…. then again, maybe not as the case was. “Come back tomorrow at 8 AM….” Right. Come back at EIGHT AM?! And stay where? Do what? No room back in Athens. The port, Piraeus is…. how can I say this…..“rough” " … you got the picture (especially since you're looking at the view outside our room tonight… I've spared you the INSIDE). Well, room secured we Metro-ed back into Athens for some food then walked to the National Archeological Museum (nice stuff, eh?). Heading for bed now, praying to that Zeus dude to calm the seas tomorrow! (Need I say there's no internet to put this online tonight?)
Wish you were here…. :-)

Speedrunner I, our boat to Sifnos

Waiting for the verdict on rough seas… note the mountains all around Athens.

Bronze of Zeus, 460 B.C.

Gold wedding crown… sadly not mine! Isn't it lovely?

Wall painting… they only have parts of the designs but like a puzzle, they fill in the background so you can see what it would have looked like… now THAT would be a fun job!

Streets of Piraeus, the port, outside our room tonight….

I recognise the view of the first shot. Hotel Jason Inn!! Not sure if I'm correct.

Btw, I took a night shot of the Acropolis from there!!

You should pray to Poseidon since he's the god of the H2O. "Seedy," "rough," and "dirty" look better than work :0)

Hope you can sail tomorrow.
