Greece Day 8

Today we rented a car and drove around the island (Sifnos). Kastro is an old walled city, very cool and some great churches tucked out on the rocks. The interior of the island is really rugged… rocky, terraced in most areas, little greenery. The shores mostly rocky and uninhabited with a few scattered towns and beaches.

Typical Sifnos island interior.

Walking down to one of the seaside churches. (none of them appear to be used.)

Same church as above… it's SO hard not to keep shooting churches, the settings are amazing!

Cats everywhere… especially in the restaurants… they appear to just run wild.

Another church…

Typical architecture, this house on the beach at the resort town of Platis Yalos.

Another great small church.

Detail

Large church dome in Apollonia (the capital)

Interior of the same church… size is deceptive, it was quite small inside.

Driving back to our town of Kamaras we had to stop while the goats crossed the road… no one with them, just wandering on their own.

I have never been to Greece, but your photos tend to convince me of visiting this beautiful land ... :)
