Where to Find a Bee!

When I first saw the theme of the week, my reaction was, “really, at this time of the year?” Well, I realize that it is very spring like in many places and the bees are out and about, but here… Well, guess what. It has been very warm for the last couple of days (although snow is forecast again on Wednesday) and yesterday while driving around I saw a bee on my windshield! So today I thought, where could I find bees and the answer was, the Botanic Gardens in Denver. Although I saw some signs of spring around the outdoor gardens, (which I will post later), it is still pretty early, but next to the green houses, they have a walkway which can either be totally enclosed or open to the outdoors in warm weather. Today it was open, they had a beautiful spring display and the bees were busy. They seemed to mostly like the hyacinths! And the jasmine was just coming into bloom and smelled soooo good! A wonderful touch of Spring today!

This is the one I entered for the theme of the week!

      Such powerful colour intensity!
      Such diligent little workers!
I remember learning how they dance ...a different dance to demonstrate to other bees where nectar
      may be found. Fascinating creatures.
At one time I knew all the directional dances.

What a wonderful collection Dar. At a time when the bee population is drastically falling it is great to see that you have so many on your hyacinths.
