With Halloween coming up in a few weeks I put up this image early.
Last November I took a walk into the local woods but before I got too far I saw this abandoned Jack-O-Lantern traditionally made from a pumpkin. It had been set up on this small rock. I don't know the reason but this rock often has birdseed, nuts and bread left on it for the wild birds and squirrels. Maybe the owner thought it would get eaten? Anyway, this was around 20 days after Halloween and it had started to decompose. I took lots of shots that day but this was the one I kept. Perhaps not the best of compositions but the story intrigued me and still does.
