Lone Tree

You could be forgiven on first look that this tree is in the wrong orentaion, but it is not. The tree was growing horizontally out of a vertical limestone rock face. I did look at it turned 90 degrees and it looked fine but here you see it in the correct orientation.

It's perhaps not at it's best now in autumn but the rich blue sky behind adds the colour that was lost from the foliage.

Maybe its actually easier for it to survive that way, doesn't have to grow against gravity.

The shot was taken close to Parc le Breos Neolithic Burial Chamber, in the Gower, South Wales. UK.

You predicted correctly. I could have sworn you had the orientation wrong. A good lesson to always keep an open mind. smile
