Dylan Thomas

Dylan Marlais Thomas was a Welsh poet and writer.

He was born in the Uplands area of Swansea on 27th October 1914 and died on 9th November 1953 in Saint Vincent's Catholic medical Centre in New York. USA.

The Dylan Thomas Theatre is in the Swansea Maritime area where this statue of Dylan Thomas is on show. I have tried on many occasions to photograph this but I have never really got the shot I wanted. This one was the best I have had yet, so I guess it will have to do for now.

Just a few yards from this statue is the theatre and this is the mural that has been painted on the side of the building.

It is weathered now and I actually think that the weathering has made for a better, or perhaps I mean a more authentic look.

There is also a Plaque in his memory in "Poets Corner" in Westminster Abby.
