Last year we spent our summer holiday in Dorset, so I took the opportunity to visit the well known photographers favourite, Durdle Dor, at West Lulworth. The rock arch does certainly lend itself some dramatic photos.
Unfortunately, we only managed to get to it in the middle of the afternoon and the light was far from perfect.

There were a lot of other people on the beach and even some canoes in the sea while we were there, so getting a good shot was quite challenging. The main photo, above, originally had several people on the beach and even a couple of canoes. I had to spend some time removing them...

Canoes at Durdle Dor
As this area has been, well and truly, photographed to death, it is quite difficult to get something different. The following shot was my attempt at a different angle. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out anywhere near as sharp as I would like.

Durdle Dor, a different angle!
The photos that I am happiest with, I took from the top of Durdle Dor looking East, but I will show those in another post.
It's so hard to be original in a place that's been so over photographed but I think you did well. Perhaps a black and white conversion might make better use of the strong light and shade?
Thanks, I will give that a try...
