Memories, Madness and Miracles

I like monuments, statues and sculpture so I had this idea of trying to combine my photographs of them with works of art. I've got a few ideas based on some sculpture I have photographed around the world.

This is my first attempt - I guess it's also an excuse for me to mess around with Photoshop!

It is my photograph of the Irish Famine memorial in Dublin combined with the Daniel McDonald painting “The Discovery of the Potato Blight in Ireland” (c. 1847).

This is one of the saddest episodes in Irish history - a time when the majority of the population was starving and yet the country was still exporting food.

Photoshop can be a great friend if one uses it with care and some fantasy... just like you! The result is great and powerful!
