New kid on the block...

Getting there….

This is “The Shard”, the latest landmark on the London skyline and when it opens next year it will be the tallest building in the European Union.

Of course, as always, opinion is divided between it being an valuable addition to the city or just another example of the “pug ugly” school of architecture… you can be your own judge of that!

Who notices the building when these wonderful boats are in the foreground?

It's grown a bit since I last came to London - it'll be fascinating to see it when it's finished.

Love the invisible line created by the ships' masts and building.

i not only like the shape of this sharp tooth in the sky, i also believe it's one hell of an interesting experiment to build a vertical city in the midst of london... something, you guys should (and i am sure, will be) very proud of in a couple of years! :-)

I suppose one shouldn't judge before it's completed... but if you photoshopped it out this would be a STUNNING photo. :-)
