A permit for Permet....

This is the town of Permet in southern Albania where we stayed for a couple of days. It's a sleepy little place where the most excitement is sitting in the town square having a cup of coffee and waiting to see how many of the locals will wander past to have a look as the strange outsiders who are in town :-)

      I'm beginning to understand the lack of tourism! So from THIS post, I'm getting "pretty" but not necessarily blown away/ highly recommend this place?

      I think the first just about encapsulates the popular idea of the Balkans: a river, dense woods, bald bare mountains and a minaret in the distance. I half expect the characters out of the Prisoner of Zenda or Tintin to walk across it.
