This is the small northern town of Barnard Castle, named after the medieval castle that dominates the centre of the town.

The first picture I took from the castle ramparts shown in the second shot and the second shot I took from the side of the river shown in the first… still with me?

      All I can say is it's a good thing for all the pop ups... thus yes, "still with you". The old castles always had the best views... pretty impressive that even after all these years the castle remains occupy the land there. I assume most of the property is now owned by your national trust? The fact that they have survived for centuries without SOMEONE deciding they wanted to live on that land is impressive.
