After another appalling week of gun violence in the U.S. (but, hey, aren't we all used to that these days) and now in England with the murder of Jo Cox I think it becomes easier and easier to despair about humanity.
Then you hear that immediately after the attack in Orlando there was an eight hour queue of people volunteering to donate blood to the trauma units treating the victims and you see the community where Jo Cox lived pulling together in the face of such madness and you realise that the madness ultimately cannot prevail.
