Foraged fruit crumble...

by David Swatton September. 05, 2018 586 views

You can't beat food for free and this time of year is just the best. Fruit crumble made with windfall apples from a local orchard, blackberries from the hills behind the village and whimberries (as bilberries are known around here) from a walk along the Stiperstones in the Shropshire hills.

Do you want custard or cream with that?

OmG, mouthwatering crumble ... Now I hope even more, that my mother will bake a apple cake (we "stole" yesterday more apples) tomorrow! Meanwhile I will take a piece of this "picture of a cake" - without cream, please.

You will have to share a virtual piece of your mum's apple cake when you have it. I'm sure it will taste better for the apples having been "liberated" rather than bought.cake

I'll be right over! I'll bring the vanilla bean ice cream!

Ice cream!
I made bilberry muffins yesterday - but didn't think to photograph them.
Looks very appetizing - Bon Appetit
