Old Field Marshall...

Not the Duke of Wellington or Bernard Montgomery but a 72-year old Field Marshall tractor trundling around the village yesterday. Very different from the modern monster versions...

Fond memories of my boyhood days at the helm of an ancient International......Many an hour, bouncing along....My favorite was mowing a field that was overgrown. As I went around in a circle, the unmowed part became smaller & smaller.......Rabbits & other small creatures, who had been hiding in the tall grass would, eventually, make a break out across the mowed field to escape the inevitable blades of my ever approaching machine!

I love old tractors! They have so much more character than the new ones! :)

I don't think the new ones have any character do they?

Here they would have that thing on display and say look at our "antique" As I said in my post about vintage cars, there was a lot of character to the machinery as well as auto in those days.

I'm sure there must be a tractor museum somewhere but there's no chance of me visiting... can't get excited about people wanting to buff chrome all day
