Breadwalk walk...

The Breadwalk, the path along the River Teme through Ludlow, is so named because when it was built in the 1800s it was paid for in bread. Local poor labourers were dragooned into building it but were paid in bread as there was more of a chance that would get back to their families than money that would more likely end up pissed up against a wall.
