I did something today that I haven't done in a long time and that is have an early morning trip out with the camera. It was dark and it was freezing (literally) when I arrived at King Edward's Bay in Tynemouth at 7am. I met up with a couple of friends from my camera club and we set up ready for the sunrise (hopefully).
It didn't start too well, as you can see above. There was a cloud base but the light wasn't playing. I decided to try a lower viewpoint but wasn't being exactly inspired. I was just about to pack up when a patch of red light appeared. This quickly started to grow over the lighthouse.
Suddenly the sunlight burst through and I managed to fire off a few frames while the clouds looked like they were on fire.
Below is my final image and the one that will be today's photo.
Surprisingly this evening had a good sunset too. Unfortunately I was in the car at the time, so as my wife was driving I grabbed a quick photo on my phone.
