The fawn's gotten so big

On the same day I encountered the doe from the previous two posts, I saw a lot of deer in the woods at once. The same mother and fawn pair I've been running into turned out to be in the mix as well. From what I've seen of them, their life seems a lot like what you see in the movie Bambi. I found the fawn alone, well-covered in some tall brush or what have you. Next thing I know, I hear something crashing through the woods and I see the mother running up a steep slope to take her place by the fawn's side.

Once reunited, both were relaxed for a moment as I followed them up the trail. The fawn ended up being spooked and took off for cover. The mother took off in a different direction. I found the fawn hiding again, and before I knew it, I heard the loud crash of the mother running through the woods to join her baby.

I have really appreciated having the chance to observe these two. I know the fawn doesn't appreciate it at all, but jeez, you have to toughen up sometime! Ha. Anyhow, it's been nearly a month since I've seen them now. Hoping I'll have time to go looking for them in the woods again soon.
