Art Filters?

Good morning one, and all, doesn't just gladen your heart when you wake up in the morning (well that's the first thing!) to see sunlight streaming in through your living room windows (another miracle here in the UK!). So you get the camera out and try and capture that moment, and the result, even with HDR, is a very poor reflection of what you are seeing, disappointed you start on with your day, - but still thinking is there another setting that I could use to capture that scene? Then I think, my new Olympus has ART filters, normally I never bother with these, believing that they are just a gimmick, well what do you think?

Hi Derek,
What is more important: capture what you see as realistically as possible, or communicate an impression to those who watch the picture? personally, I believe that a photography does not need to reflect exactly what you see but reflect what you feel. In this respect, I prefer the first picture with HDR setting which is more natural and poetic.
If you look at  your picture long after you have taken it, you may have forgotten what you have seen and be more sensitive to what you feel seeing it.
Cheers
