Two things a Cantonese breakfast make. Both are staple items on a Cantonese breakfast menu. On the left is jah-lerng 炸两, a fried dough stick wrapped in a sheet of rice noodle with a sprinkle of sesame seeds for garnish. The sauce was my own uh... artistic take on the dish.
On the right is congee (jook 粥), Cantonese comfort food. The porridge is a blank canvas and assumes the taste of whatever ingredients and seasonings you add to it.
