Sounds and "Sounds of Silence"

I think there's a Tuesday suggestion for posting a “sound” shot, so here's my entry! For over 30 years, I sat at the same microphone with the same pair of headphones and the same CDs, playing music on a 3-hour-a-day radio show. Simon and Garfunkel were among the listener favorites! This is the “sound” board that I no longer run every day! Retirement is the life!!!

DJ Brenda, then DJ Mom, now DJ Nana on KTLO-FM

(Ricky asked me about my job and I calculated this answer: that's about 64,000 weather forecasts, over 11,500 interviews, plus 260,000 songs!)

What a shame Simon and Garfunkel didn't practice what they preach... (Sorry, cheap shot - and an easy one.) Both my parents were radio presenters, firstly in Radio Antilles in the 60s and then in the BBC World Service. Small world.

There is many a piece of music ruined for me by repetition. Hope that's not true for you. great work!

Excellent photograph Brenda and excellent choice of music-you'll hear lots of Simon & Garfunkel, Harry Chapin, The Grateful Dead and such around the likes of me. I do so love radio~I hope you are enjoying it as well from your different perspective!

Sounds like a fun job! Retirement sounds nice as well though. Too bad I'm about a million years away from that. haha

Great picture! That is a very interesting job, but nevertheless it's fantastic when you don't have to go to work every day.

As much as I love Simon and Garfunkel, and as much as I enjoyed hearing you on the radio, I enjoy both of you when you're playing at my house! hehehe
