Our plan was to play the 5-star golf course, Paa-Ko Ridge in Sandia Park, New Mexico, on Monday. But the weather was expected to get bad by Sunday night, so we decided to get our tee time for Sunday morning. The sun was bright, the air was clear (and thin!), and we had a great round of golf on an excellent course with magnificent views! We then drove 5 hours and are currently in Holbrook, Arizona, heading westward tomorrow…

(I downloaded and edited these shots in the car! Somehow that sounds rather sci-fi to me…Anyway, they look a little “darker” when I posted them than I thought they were. Must have been because it was nearly dark when I did them at 80 miles an hour!)

I had to hike to the top of a mountain on hole #17 to get this shot, but it was worth it.

Paa-Ko Ridge is one of only 23 “5-Star” public courses in the US, according to Golf Digest. It was carved out of the desert and mountains of New Mexico!

Larry puttiing on a 100-yard long green - and you don't want to miss the green!

Another one of the long par-fives that required well-placed shots!

I loved the rock-pile mountain behind the green and the etched lines worn into the far peaks.

I caught Larry's ball in the air on the way toward this beautiful par 3!

Sun and clouds gave the day some great photo-ops

Heading back to the clubhouse on #17

We stopped along Interstate 40 a hundred times to take photos of every rock outcropping in 2 states!
