Today we drove from Florence, Oregon to Portland and will fly out at 5 a.m. on Tuesday morning to Memphis and then home. It's been a wonderful trip - full of incredible landscapes and challenging golf courses. It's a part of the United States that we've never seen before and we enjoyed every mile of it!

Thanks to all of you who have made the journey with us - your comments have been a source of many laughs and much conversation!

A tunnel north along Pacific Coast Highway 101

This is the Cook's Chasm bridge, originally built in 1932. Due to harsh weather conditions, it had to be re-built in 2003. It spans an area near Devil's Churn.

Looking up a small pull-off location toward the Heceta Lighthouse (Larry's posting it!)

Down a small walkway to the beach and the breakers

Part of a chipped rock column in the parking area, with the Pacific in the background

Larry standing in a tall grove of pine trees on the path back up the hill

I have a “bench fetish”, so I had to post this one on a small quiet path

Crashing waves, lava rock and tide pools combined for an irresistable shot!

Lunch at a place in Newport, Oregon provided some beautiful and thoughtful scenery for Larry - and me!
