I was behind the house yesterday at the pond to take a water reflection shot and these little muskrats were right beside me! They did see me until I moved to get another angle. We see them swimming in the water but have never seen them on the land. Reminded me of an old ‘80’s song:
Captain & Tennille's “Muskrat Love” [bing.com]

"Muskrat Susie, Muskrat Sam
Do the jitterbug out in muskrat land

Floatin' like the heavens above,
Looks like Muskrat Love"

Captain & Tennille! But they must be having a little fight, they won't even look at each other:)

interesting how they pair up and look different way. perhaps the natural defense system... good capture.

I think Susie is sneering so Sam must have made her mad about something! very cute capture :)

I thought that this song had been made by America but after some investigation in Wikipedia i found this:

"Muskrat Candlelight" (subsequently covered as "Muskrat Love") is a 1972 song by Willis Alan Ramsey

Covers under the alternative title include:
      * 1973 – America on the album Hat Trick
      * 1976 – Captain & Tennille on the album Song of Joy

Anyhow, I was only aware of the America version and I used to sing it and many other America's songs on stage with a friend of mine, but that was eons ago, here's the version by America:
