"OH, BAD MEN THERE!"

by Brenda Nelson May. 20, 2011 3277 views

During our trip to Jamaica, our destination for one of the days was Spanish Town, the old colonial capitol. It once had magnificent Spanish buildings at the core of the city, but now they are mostly abandoned. Every time we told a native that we were taking wheelchairs to Spanish Town, the first thing they said was, “Oh, bad men there!” Actually, everyone we met was nice and friendly to us, but it did make us wonder!

it's sad to see a good place go bad and look so sad, thanks for sharing no5 showed what the place could have looked like, so glad the people where nice, it goes to show that its the people that count and not the place.

It is such a pity that those old spanish buildings are not being preserved, they represent an important part of the history of the land.
Great textures everywhere.

That would be enough to make ME a little nervous! Great shots though... the street scene (#3) is my favorite.
