It's been almost a year since Larry and I took one of our golf excursions! So today we headed down through Tennessee and into North Carolina, following along the edge of the Appalachian Mountains and into the Smokies, which have a true smokey look to them. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful drive!

The fall colors were just beginning to shine during our trip

Down Interstate Highway 40, with the Smokey Mountains in the distance

Taken from the Foothills Parkway

I zoomed in on part of this small town in the valley below us

We stopped at every “scenic overlook” along the road, so we could capture the colors

When we couldn't go OVER the mountains, we….

…went THROUGH them!

Finally, we reached our destination - Maggie Valley, North Carolina.

This photo from our room was taken as the last rays of the sun were hitting the top of the mountains
