Pinehurst #2 is one of the most well-known golf courses in the world - the site of numerous PGA tour events. In 1900, it became the first of over 600 courses designed by the legendary Scottish architect, Donald Ross. #2 consists of mainly waste sand areas with “wire grass” and difficult rolling greens. It is the course on which the late Payne Stewart won the US Open in 1999, then died in a plane crash before he could defend his title at Pebble Beach in 2000.
Today, we checked off the 17th course on our quest to play the top 23 in the US! (And I'm VERY happy to have it behind us!!)
Since we were walking and playing, the only camera I could carry was my point-and-shoot, so these are mainly snapshots!
