Forty years ago, when I was 7 months pregnant with our daughter, we decided to go on a camping trip with Larry's brother and wife to a very remote area on the lake! No water, no electricity, no camper, only a tent and sleeping bags!
We rode back out to Ozark Isle today, which is now a wildlife preserve.

40 years later…

We saw a buck, two does, and 3 fawns, but only this mother-to-be posed for us!

I liked the little footprints in the sand, down to the water's edge

This pretty cove made a great place to anchor a boat and take a swim on a hot day!

Back in the 70's, there was a rock group called Black Oak Arkansas who bought this compound at Oakland and lived there when not on tour. They became friends of ours and Larry's bank customers. Now the entire place is privately owned.

Years ago, Larry and I used to make the 45-minute drive to this little country church to sing for their worship services several times a year. Today brought back some fond memories!

The causeway that lead back to civilization!
