Today was our final day and we spent it at EPCOT. I know these posts have been enormously long, but they are more for me to save the memories and for our family to see what we've done each day. I promise to post a single photo in the future!
Spaceship Earth is the symbol of EPCOT (Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow).
This is the depot where we caught buses to all the different locations iin WDW
Inside Spaceship Earth is an attraction about the history and future of human communication. They take your photo during the ride, then add it to the scenario that you select. Here we are blasting off into space!
The Living Seas is filled with the creatures of the ocean, including this beautiful but poisonous lionfish
It's hard to believe that this is a living animal!
One of our favorites in EPCOT is “Journey Into Imagination” with “Figment”
This is the “Figment” of your imagination!
“OLD - it sure beats DEAD”
This has become a tradition in our family to take a photo of ourselves reflected in the entry of “Imagination”! Today, the light didn't work with us!
Today was either partly to mostly cloudy, so the skies were really pretty at times.
“Mission Space” was a really cool ride to Mars
“Apollo 13” star Gary Senise was our mission commander and trainer
These guys were the highlight of the day - the “Jammitors”, instead of the janitors, because they played percussion on all the janitors' cans and lids and brooms
At the end, they finished by throwing their drum sticks in the air! Larry posted a cool video of
The Jammitors [facebook.com] in action!
“The American Adventure” always gives me chills and make me proud to be an American!
This ensemble is called “The Voices of Liberty” and they have an amazing acapella sound. Here they're singing
“The Star Spangled Banner” [facebook.com]
Benjamin Franklin and Mark Twain take us on the animatronic tour of the US history. (We're not allowed to use ANY flash photography inside these venues.)
“Lady and the Tramp” in live topiaries
I thought this group of chefs going into the Smokehouse Barbeque & Beer place was hysterical
The French masters during the Renaissance
Look at those clouds over the French section of the World Showcase!
Elvis and Cinderella? Maybe Elvis and (Southern) Belle?
Larry started yelling, “Eagle, eagle, eagle”! When we looked up, a real bald eagle was flying over the EPCOT marketplace! I don't think anyone saw it but us!
This is where the eagle was earlier in the day
The finale to the evening is a huge event called “Illuminations” - a $30,000 fireworks show presented nightly by Siemans.
