Emergency Response Studio

These photos depict the Emergency Response Studio [emergencyresponsestudios.org] on display at the Ballroom art gallery in Marfa, TX. The idea is a mobilized, self-sufficient studio so artists can be productive on the scene in crises and natural disasters.

Appropriately, it's a re-fashioned FEMA trailer, outfitted with solar and wind power. The final product is the definition of utilitarian. There's a tiny bed in the back, along with a toilet cubicle (or water closet, if you prefer) and a very cramped shower. I've seen more spacious facilities on sailboats.
