Sunset, looking north across the Strait of Juan de Fuca, which separates Washington state from Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. It's about 15 miles across the water. The Strait is the main passage way for marine traffic, coming from the Pacific Ocean to ports in the USA and Canada, like Seattle & Victoria.

One of my favorite vantage points to watch the sunset, especially while the Sun is so far north, this time of year...

I try never to miss a sunrise or sunset, no matter where in the world I may be. The light is always so magical, at those times! Nice to be home in my own bed for a change, as well!

I understand about the "trying to stay cool" this time of year, especially so far south. I grew up in San Antonio, before air conditioning was so prevalent........gasp.....One of the main reasons I love my new home, here in the Northwest! Hang in there Sis!
